Job Title: Head Groundsman
Pay Scale: £14/h PAYE or £16.50/Umbrella Rate
Hours: 35 to 45 hours per week
Contract: Casual
Start Date: As soon as possible
Responsible to: Building Manager
Purpose:
Our clients seek a self-motivated, hardworking and organised head groundsman to manage the grounds-work effectively.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible and have the necessary skills to carry out the following activities:
- Plan the grounds work throughout the year
- Carry out the grass-cutting, raking, brushing, slitting, aeration and deep aeration, mowing, sanding, weeding, marking cricket and rugby pitches, applying fertiliser, irrigating, treating for pests and diseases, planting trees and flower beds, verti-cutting, applying herbicides, strimming, hedging, clearing leaves and litter picking.
Person Specification:
The successful candidate:
- Has a clear enhanced DBS check or is willing to undertake it (please note that there is a charge of £48 involved, refundable after three months of work (essential)
- Can operate on a computer, send emails, search for supplies and place orders (essential)
- Have excellent time management skills (essential)
- Has a passion for maintaining grounds at high standards
- Has relevant studies and experience for this role.
